Disappointing Saturday Night

Saturday 15th November 2014. The day where Guildford were hoping for 3 in a row. 3 wins in a row that was. Did Guildford get their 3 in a row? Who won the game? Keep on reading to find out what happened.

Forget about the giant pothole on the M25 in the Leatherhead area last night (14th November). Instead, imagine you were at the Guildford Lightning game tonight (15th) against Slough. Crowds cheering, players playing and officials officiating. Sounds like your typical ice hockey game, doesn’t it? For those of you who didn’t go to this game – where were you?

Both teams brought along short benches.

The game was 18 seconds old before Slough scored. Another first period goal came from them at 6:27 before the home team scored at 12:10. Slough scored ANOTHER goal exactly 3 minutes later.

In the second period, Monica Petrosino scored at 29:53, just a few seconds before the halfway mark of the game. Guildford were out of luck unfortunately. Slough scored another goal at 36:46.

Only one goal in the 3rd period. This was thanks to Guildford’s Kirsty Lake at 45:29.

However, Lake’s late third period goal was just not enough to secure the points for Guildford.

Final Score: Guildford 3 – 4 Slough.

I think the game definitely was a disappointing Saturday night.

Hopefully, Guildford will win next time!
